 Dear Jessica,
I have recently encountered some legal difficulty. I have filed a claim with a
large company for refund of some damaged merchandise, and I may have to get a
lawyer to back up my claim. Will I be compensated?
—Berkeley, CA
Dear Seeker,
The situation is a matter of control issues versus your emotions (King of Cups.)
The person who has been handling your claim doesn't like your attitude when you
deal with him or her. You have to change your tactic and stop making this an
adversarial situation. Instead, try to find ways to energetically "invite" the
people you are working with onto your team—show them your feelings instead of
your muscle (8 of Pentacles.) I don't think you need a lawyer, but you do need
to expect that this is going to be a challenging situation full of paradoxes
(Queen of Cups.) Be charming, sincere, and firm. Don't let your fear get the
best of you (8 of Swords.) You will feel like you are losing when you are
winning, but the outcome will be satisfactory.
Dear Jessica,
My girlfriend and I are suffering lesbian bed death. I am really sad about it.
How can I put the spark back into the relationship?
—San Francisco, CA
Dear Seeker,
This is not lesbian bed death. It is a lull caused by comfort and a sense of
fulfillment. You recently put your neck out to prove to your GF that she really
has your heart (The Fool.) Now that she knows she has it, she feels less
inclined to need to prove herself to you because all the power is in her court
(The World.) Isn't life ironic like that? The good news is that a balance of
power is possible between the two of you (2 of Swords), but the bad news is that
your ability to experience careless passion with one another has waned (The
Devil.) You guys are thinking about it too much. The Ace of Swords tells me that
you guys need to have an excuse for make-up sex. Pull away a little bit and let
her come get you. The outcome? The Chariot: aggressive passion and ardor. Plus a
little spanking if you're lucky.
Dear Jessica,
I need to lose weight, but I am feeling really lazy. It's hard to find time in
the day to exercise, even though I know that's just an excuse. Kick my butt a
little, please?
—Olean, NY
Dear Seeker,
No use crying over spilled milk. What's done is done. You can't take back the
ice cream sandwiches or the French fries. So stop AGONIZING about it and just
start doing a little something where you are (5 of Cups and Strength.) You will
have to face your limitations and swallow your pride at first (5 of Swords) but
at least you'll be on your way. Patience, grasshopper (3 of Wands.) The pounds
will come off, but it will take a while.
